How to Care for Your BURNSEA® Onyx Thongs
Taking care of your thongs ensures the EVA foam continues to provide ultimate custom-moulding comfort and the polyurethane (PU) upper stays looking sharp.
Routine Cleaning
The EVA Foam Base: Because our closed-cell foam is 100% waterproof and naturally resists odour, dirt will not soak in. Simply rinse the base under warm water. For stubborn sand or mud, use a soft-bristled brush (like an old toothbrush) and a drop of mild dish soap to gently scrub the footbed and sole.
The Polyurethane (PU) Upper: PU is a highly durable, water-resistant material, but it requires a gentler touch than the EVA foam base. Clean the PU surface with a soft, damp cloth. If needed, use a small amount of mild soap. Rinse off any soap residue with a new damp cloth.
Drying: Always let your thongs air dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area. They will dry incredibly fast on their own.
What to Avoid (The "Do Nots")
Avoid Extreme Heat: Never leave your thongs baking in direct, intense sunlight, inside a hot car, or next to a heater. Extreme heat can cause the EVA foam to shrink or warp, and it can dry out the PU upper, causing it to crack over time.
